Ignite counselor holding a 'welcome to Ignite' sign
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.
To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

What is Ignite?

Ignite Texas is a 4-day retreat that connects incoming UT and ACC freshmen and transfer students to Christian community at The University of Texas and throughout Austin. With band and speaker sessions, small groups, and camp traditions, you'll have friends before you ever step on campus.

Our
purpose

Our purpose is to glorify the Lord by serving incoming students and showing them their first glimpse of the body of Christ at The University of Texas.

At the retreat, we have a Church and Ministry Fair that introduces campers to multiple churches and Christian organizations in Austin, allowing them to see God's influence both on campus and in the city.

How we
work

Founded in September 2002, Ignite was created as a model of the mission statement for a retreat called "Impact" at Texas A&M University. Every August since the founding of Ignite, the staff has served by reaching out to incoming students through the unity of the body of Christ.

The name "Ignite" represents the organization's purpose: to ignite the hearts of freshmen to seek God during their college career.
