What sort of things will we do at retreat?

During retreat, we will have camp-wide sessions, Big Camp Time, and small groups every morning and night. There will also be an evening prayer and worship session, Late Night Camp Olympics, and the Church and Ministry Fair. Bring clothes you can get dirty and wet for Camp Olympics because it will be hot (this is Texas after all). We may also have some free time in the afternoon where you can play volleyball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, etc.

What is the Church and Ministry Fair?

Ignite hosts a Church and Ministry Fair during retreat to give campers the opportunity to interact with local churches and Christian organizations. The goal is to help them get plugged into the body of Christ in Austin!

On staff with an Austin-area church? Interested in representing your college ministry at the Church and Ministry Fair? Email Eric Goode at ministry@ignitetexas.org or fill out this form, and they will be able to help you out!

Can I change my registration information or switch sessions after I register?

Yes! Please email Abby Koyle at retreatcoordinator@ignitetexas.org with your updated information.

Does Ignite conflict with other freshman events (such as sorority recruitment or Camp Texas)?

Nope! Neither session of Ignite Texas conflicts with other UT events, including sorority recruitment, Camp Texas (certain sessions), Longhorn Band auditions, and "Mooov-In" to the dorms.

What if I have allergies, disabilities, or medical concerns?

We are able to accommodate most allergy, disability, and medical concerns. Please list all relevant concerns in their respective fields on the registration form when you sign up for camp.

What if I’m not going to UT?

Ignite is not just for UT students; any incoming college student looking to get connected to the Christian community in Austin is welcome at camp! If you will be attending another college in Austin and are interested in coming to Ignite, please email Rachel Robinson at director@ignitetexas.org.

There are other retreats like Ignite at schools around the nation! Here are a couple in Texas: Impact (Texas A&M), Foundation (Texas Tech), Rise (Texas State).

What if I don't know anyone who's going to ignite?

That's perfectly okay! The goal of Ignite is to make sure everyone has plenty of familiar faces before setting foot on campus, so you'll have endless opportunities to make friends at retreat!
